The only real valuable thing is intuition.

Albert Einstein

Cease trying to work everything out with your minds.  It will get you nowhere.  Live by intuition and inspiration and let your whole life be Revelation.

Eileen Caddy

The creative is the place where no one else has ever been.  You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.  What you'll discover will be wonderful.  What you'll discover is yourself.

Alan Alda

For whereas the mind works in possibilities, the intuitions work in actualities, and what you intuitively desire, that is possible to you.  Whereas what you mentally or "consciously" desire is nine times out of ten impossible; hitch your wagon to a star, or you will just stay where you are.

D.H. Lawrence

Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone else's.

Billy Wilder

It is through science that we prove, but through intuition that we discover.

Henri Poincaré

Intuition is a spiritual faculty and does not explain, but simply points the way.

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind
is a faithful servant.  We have created a society that
honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

Albert Einstein

I feel there are two people inside me--me and my intuition.
If I go against her, she'll screw me every time,
and if I follow her, we get along quite nicely.

Kim Basinger

You must train your intuition--you must trust
the small voice inside you which tells you
exactly what to say, what to decide.

Ingrid Bergman

Trusting our intuition often saves us from disaster.

Anne Wilson Schaef

Listen to your intuition. It will tell you everything you need to know.

Anthony D'Angelo

Intuition is a spiritual faculty and does not explain, but simply points the way.

Florence Scovel Shinn

There is a wise being living inside of you.  It is your intuitive self.
Focus your awareness into a deep place in your body, a place
where your "gut feelings" reside.  You can communicate with it by
silently talking to it, making requests, or asking questions. Then
relax, don't think too hard with your mind, and be open to
receiving answers.  They are usually very simple and relate to
the present moment, not the past or the future, and they feel right.

Shakti Gawain

The power of intuitive understanding will protect you
from harm until the end of your days.

Lao-Tzu

The best way I have found to follow my true desires is to pay attention
to my intuitive sense.  We all have great wisdom within us, a part of us
that knows exactly what we need at every moment.  We are born with
this intuitive sense, but most of us are quickly taught to distrust and ignore
it.  We have to relearn something that should come naturally.
Fortunately, it’s not too difficult; it just takes some practice.

Shakti Gawain

Don't try to comprehend with your mind.
Your minds are very limited. Use your intuition.

Madeleine L'Engle
A Wrinkle in Time

Intuition is always right in at least two important
ways:  It is always in response to something.
It always has your best interest at heart.

Come from the heart, the true heart, not the head.  When in doubt,
choose the heart. This does not mean to deny your own experiences
and that which you have empirically learned through the years.  It means
to trust your self to integrate intuition and experience.  There is a
balance, a harmony to be nurtured, between the head and the heart.
When the intuition rings clear and true, loving impulses are favored.

The material world is simply an expression of the mind; that's what so
many fail to see. We're so dependent on what is before us that we
discount our intuition. Yet if one dismisses instinct, how can one
understand or believe in a world that exists beyond one's sight?

Megan Chance
The Spiritualist

Nothing comes unannounced, but many can miss the announcement.
So it's very important to actually listen to your own intuition
rather than driving through it.

Terence McKenna

Women observe subconsciously a thousand little details, without
knowing they are doing so.  Their subconscious mind adds these
little things together--and they call the result intuition.

Agatha Christie

Trust your hunches. . . . Hunches are usually based on facts filed
away just below the conscious level.  Warning!  Do not confuse
your hunches with wishful thinking.  This is the road to disaster.

Joyce Brothers

Once you get rid of the idea that you must please other people before you
please yourself, and you begin to follow your own instincts--only then can
you be successful.  You become more satisfied, and when you are,
other people tend to be satisfied with what you do.

Raquel Welch

Instinct is a powerful form of natural energy, perhaps comparable in
humans to electricity or even atomic energy in the mechanical world.

Yes, life can be mysterious and confusing--but there's much of life that's actually rather dependable and reliable.  Some principles apply to life in so many different contexts that they can truly be called universal--and learning what they are and how to approach them and use them can teach us some of the most important lessons that we've ever learned.
My doctorate is in Teaching and Learning.  I use it a lot when I teach at school, but I also do my best to apply what I've learned to the life I'm living, and to observe how others live their lives.  What makes them happy or unhappy, stressed or peaceful, selfish or generous, compassionate or arrogant?  In this book, I've done my best to pass on to you what I've learned from people in my life, writers whose works I've read, and stories that I've heard.  Perhaps these principles can be a positive part of your life, too!
Universal Principles of Living Life Fully.  Awareness of these principles can explain a lot and take much of the frustration out of the lives we lead.
